RBKC has made a decision on the way forward for a new park that will be created by the river in Lots Road.

Following the results of the consultation survey, the team behind Design No.1 have won the contract to deliver the park in 2026.

The new park, which will be in the small area left by Thames Tideway’s super sewer works behind the water pumping station, will have an emphasis on green space and exercise facilities. The final design of the area will be created with on-going feedback and ideas from residents.

After a poster campaign and two public drop-in sessions, 92 people responded to the survey. Unfortunately, 17 of those had to be discounted because they were residents from outside the Chelsea Riverside ward. That left 75 respondents, of which 39% voted for Design 1. Design 2 was the second choice with 37%.

It would seem logical that elements of Design 2 could be incorporated into the final project. Contact your Chelsea Riverside councillors if you wish to suggest ideas for the new park. Their group email is: chelseariverside@kcfc.org.uk
