The burglar who broke into and robbed one of Chelsea’s treasured churches has been hunted down and arrested after a stunning DNA breakthrough.
The man has pleaded guilty and awaiting sentencing, but police are refusing to release any details. The Citizen is hoping for divine intervention to help unravel the story.
All we known at present is that the burglar broken by smashing a panel in a 17th century stained glass window and then jemmied the door to the vicar’s private office by using a pewter cross. The cross, which was bent during the crime, still takes pride of place in the chapel.
