The squatter who had lived in the former PC Rescue shop on the King’s Road for six months has finally been evicted.
RBKC officers managed to get him out of the property in early August and immediately began an urgent clean up operation to make way for a new tenant.
The council confirmed that the total cost of cleaning up and securing the property will have risen to more than £10,000. The council also confirmed that it is pursuing the previous tenant through the courts and is seeking £95,000. The claims for this money pre-dates the squatter taking over the property.
The businessman who ran PC Rescue has told The Citizen that he facies bankruptcy if the council successfully pursues its financial claim against him. He fully refutes the claims made against him by the council.
The Citizen managed to gain access to the shop before it was cleared up and discovered a disgusting mess left behind by the squatter. If anyone has ever wondered where objects that are left out by kind people at charity shops ends up, this pictorial guide might give a clue…
